Gert Skytte Park

The Gert Skytte Park is located in the Munkkiniemi district of western Helsinki. The park area is also home to a war cemetery and the “Mother Earth protecting her son” statue by Wäinö Aaltonen (1894 – 1966). The park comprises a number of green areas and it is characteristically spacious, solemn and light. The park is lit with short lighting columns and the memorial statue is highlighted with spotlights.
