Concept Description

Lux Helsinki 31.12.-9.1.2012 “Variant Spectrum” illuminates the Olympic Stadium Tower in a colorful spectrum that emphasizes its role as one of the main landmarks in Helsinki. Seen from afar the 12W laserbeam topped LED light installation creates a varying spectrum the entire height of the 72 meter high tower. Up close the colors of the spectrum stand out more clearly and create a wavelike movement that brings the structural rhythms of the towerʼs façade and its balconies to life. Full scale atomic emission spectrum transforms into ten different elements: Hydrogen, Helium, Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold, Tungsten.
