Kuopion Sokos

Passers-by used to find the passageway through the department store Sokos, located by the main square in Kuopio, Finland, unpleasant and insecure. In a renovation project the passage was changed into an inviting shopping area open for thoroughfare from morning until night. In creating a safe and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, lighting plays a significant role. In the entrances of the passage, Siteco’s Lunis2 downlights allow for a pleasant entry through energy efficient and glare-free lightning. The passage now has a changeable environment that was created by enhancing the existing rectangular ceiling niches. With OSRAM’s Linearlight Colormix Flex RGB led strips and OSRAM Easy light management system, the entire atmosphere can be instantly redesigned according to seasons or to support particular events.
