Concept Description

By 2025, a new diverse residential area will be finished in the seafront area of Jätkäsaari in southern Helsinki. When planning the area, the aim has been to create a dense urban structure, and it will provide a wide variety of services for future residents. In terms of lighting, Jätkäsaari is a coherent and well-defined area. On Länsisatamakatu street, the spacious and airy feel of the pedestrian route has been emphasised with indirect lighting. The buildings in the area have distinctively strong colours and this has also been considered in the lighting design. The light sources must provide good colour rendering so as to reproduce the desired colours of the buildings.
