Dance through time and light – Opening ceremony of Nattljus light festival Darkness and light, land and sky. The opening takes place at an abandoned former industry plot, stretching over a whole block on the north of Eskilstuna. It has been deserted for a long time, but now several residential neighborhoods are planned here with upwards of 1,000 new apartments. In the vibration between the old and the new which is right now, the light festival starts with a ceremony that creates a link between the past and the future in this dark place. The opening will be a signal that the festival lights up and opens. Now it’s just to walk around in Eskilstuna and enjoy our beautiful city in its night glow! The opening ceremony involves children from Fröslunda elementary school and dancers from Let’s Move Eskilstuna dance studio. There will be music by the Eskilstuna band Sakhalin and we are also very excited to have the opportunity to present a surprising light element beyond the ordinary to the opening of the first light festival in Eskilstuna… Afterwards you are welcome to go to the sites of the permanent lighting project that will open in the evening and see when they will be lit up and officially opened. Please visit Eskilstuna Art Museum on the road, which are open extra hours this evening.
